Our CPD short course in Dry Needling and Medical Acupuncture for Women’s Health is designed as a progression course for those who have completed a foundation course in Dry Needling or Medical Acupuncture.

Our 2 day CPD Certificate course in Dry Needling and Medical Acupuncture for Women’s Health is accredited by the FHT and STO and provides 16 CPD hours. This course is insurable by Balens, BGI UK, and Hiscox (plus other companies may also insure for clinical use).
This course is open to Sports Massage Therapists at Level 4 or above, Sports Therapists, Osteopaths, Chiropractors and Physiotherapists as continued professional development.

About the course
Course Design
Our course is designed in relation to industry standards and is independently accredited by the Federation of Holistic Therapists and the Sports Therapy Organisation.
This course provides 16 Continual Professional Development hours (CPD).
Training day will provide a mixture of theory work practical demonstration and supervised treatment.
You will be practising and receiving Dry Needling throughout this course, under guided supervision.
You must have completed a foundation Dry Needling course prior to enrolling on this course and be prepared to receive Dry Needling as part of the course.
Overview of Course
- Recap on techniques from our foundation Dry Needling course, along with contraindications and safety considerations.
- Introduction to a range of women’s health conditions to include the Post Partum period, Menopause, and wider health conditions.
- Demonstration and application of Dry Needling & Medical Acupuncture techniques to include (but not be limited to) the following conditions:

Postpartum conditions: Diastasis Recti, Postpartum depression and Postpartum Pelvic Girdle Pain.

Menopause and wider women’s health conditions: Low mood and motivation, Headaches and Migraine, Hot Flushes, Overactive bladder, Insomnia, Nausea, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Wider joint pain and stiffness and Dysmenorrhoea.
Entry Requirements & background
All course applicants must have completed either our CPD foundation course in Dry Needling or a course of a similar nature (please email if you are unsure).
Course applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old and must hold a minimum of a Level 4 qualification in Sports Massage Therapy.
Applicants should have also have been practising Sports or Massage Therapy for a period of time prior to enrolling on this course.
Our course is also open to Sports Therapists, Osteopaths, Chiropractors, Physiotherapists and Rehab professional as continued professional development.
This course will focus on the application of Advanced Dry Needling as a modality within Sports and Remedial Massage, Sports Therapy, Physiotherapy treatment etc.
On completion of the course students will be able to demonstrate effective use and application of Advanced Dry Needling skills in the management of injury treatment, in a safe and effective manner and will have a clear understanding of contraindications for treatment.
This course is taught using a hands-on approach, therefore you will be practising Dry Needling throughout both teaching days, whilst receiving ongoing input from the tutor.
This course is independently accredited by the Sports Therapy Organisation and Federation of Holistic Therapists and insured by Balens and BGI UK.
Course Tutors
Taught by Dawn Morse BSc (Hons), PGCE, MSc and Sylvia Zeng BSc
Dawn has a Masters Degree in Sports and Health Sciences, a BSc in Sports Science, is a qualified teacher and a Sports Massage Therapist. Dawn has been lecturing in the field of Sports Science and Sports Therapy for over 10 years and was the programme leader for the University of Bath FdSc in Sports Therapy for 9 years. Dawn was also an associate lecturer for the Open University.
Dawn is the founder of Core Elements which provides regular training courses in Sports Massage and Sports Therapy modalities.
Sylvia Zeng has a degree in traditional Acupuncture and is also a Sports and Clinical Therapist and holds teaching qualifications.
Sylvia runs her own private clinic and has also worked extensively in hospital environments in China.
