CPD short course in myofascial dry cupping for Functional Movment – Face to Face course 

Our short course in Myofascial Dry Cupping for Functional Movement is designed for those who are already qualified in Dry Cupping, and who would like to extend their skills to include Functional Movement Techniques for use within massage therapy, injury treatment and rehabilitation.
This course focuses on the use of Myofasical Dry Cupping Therapy (a.k.a. Myofascial Decompression) from a western perspective and application the musculoskeletal system, for the treatment of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction.

This course is open to Sports and Massage Therapists at Level 3 or above, Sport and Exercise Scientists, Sports Therapists, Sports Rehabilitators, Osteopaths, Chiropractors and Physiotherapists as continued professional development. 

Prior to enrolling onto this course, you should have completed previous training in Myofascial Dry Cupping (see our Dry Cupping course). 

This Online course is accredited by the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) and the Sports Therapy Organisation and is insurable by the FHT, the STO, Balens and BGI UK for clinical use.

Course Design

This course focuses on the application and theory behind the use of Dry Cupping Therapy for Functional Movement from a Western perspective. Our course is taught using a hands-on approach, therefore you will be practising Dry Cupping Therapy throughout the day, whilst receiving ongoing input from the course tutor. 

You will practise techniques during the course and will receive treatment too. 

Our course is designed in relation to industry standards and is accredited by the Federation of Holistic Therapists and the Sports Therapy Organisation, and provides 8 Continuous Professional Development hours (CPD)

*Face to face delivery is supported by an Online Recap and Revision app for use after the course. This is designed to help recap techniques covered during the day course.

  • Example of self cupping techniques for the lower body

 Areas covered Include:

  • Pectorals and deltiods
  • Latissimus dorsi
  • Wider back region, including techniques specific to the upper back and neck, along with the wider back
  • Quadriceps, 
  • Hamstrings, 
  • Gastrocnemius and soleus

Cupping Kit

You will need a cupping kit for our Face to Face course. 

The course confirmation email will contain recommended kits and links for purchase. 

There are many kit’s available, but one that we use in clinic and on the courses is the 17 piece Hansol kit.

Entry Requirements & background

Course applicants must be 17 years old or over and must hold a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Sports Massage Therapy or Massage Therapy. This course is also open to Sports Therapists, Physiotherapists, Chiropractors, Osteopaths and Sports Rehabilitation professionals. 

This course focuses on the application and theory behind the use of Myofascial Dry Cupping Therapy for Functional Movement from a Western perspective. 

On completion of the course students will be able to demonstrate effective use and application of Dry Cupping Therapy in the management of Sports Massage Therapy and injury treatment in a safe and effective manner and will have a clear understanding of contraindications for treatment.

Dawn teaches the Face to Face Dry Cupping course and sometimes the Live online course.

Dawn has a Masters Degree in Sports and Health Sciences, is a qualified teacher and is a Sports Massage Therapist.
Dawn was the programme leader for the University of Bath Sports Therapy Foundation Degree and lectured on the BSc programme for 9 years and is currently an associate lecturer for the Open University.
Dawn is the founder of Core Elements which provides regular training courses in Sports Massage and Sports Therapy modalities.

Our Live Online course is often taught by Core Elements course tutor Emma Stuart

Em graduated from the University of Gloucester with a Honours degree in Sports Therapy.

Her journey in Sports Therapy began aged 40 after sustaining many running injuries. At this time Em was already a successful Sports Massage Therapist, but her passion to learn more took her towards further study.

Em currently runs her own clinic in Gloucester called Em Stuart Injuries. Along with running her clinic, Em is also a qualified Dive Instructor and teaches for Core Elements Training.

Em currently teaches on several of Core Elements courses including our Level 4 Sports and Remedial Massage Therapy Diploma course and our CPD short courses in Manual Therapy and Joint Mobilisation and Rehabilitation for Sport and Exercise along with Live Online Dry Cupping.
